shouldn't we be pushing nukes and hydro where we have very little, if any dependence on China? Yet the same ones pushing the "green dream" are adamantly against that too. Shouldn't we, in the meantime, be pushing full force to a conversion away from coal, diesel, and even regular gasoline to much cleaner and proven Nat Gas, where were the ones being depended on? Yet these same folks can't even get on board for an easy improvement like that, which doesn't carry the same impact on energy costs and ability to meet demands. And, as you mentioned, take whatever steps are necessary to ensure our supply line for the materials needed for renewable energy, like rare earths as one example, so that we're not made to be dependent on China? Yet it was Obama and these same folks that regulated Moly Corp out of business. For that matter, shouldn't we be putting maximum pressure on the worst offenders (China, India, etc.) to get them to comply? e.g. refuse to do business with them, sanctions, freeze banking access, etc. Shoot, even war. I mean, if it's indeed an existential crisis, why wouldn't we do whatever it takes to protect life.
