I mean #metoo as a macro issue. It has been a reckoning of sorts, much in

the same way as outrage over statues and holidays, etc. Basically a new generation saying "you know what? We get that this is "tradition" in your mind and that these statues have always been here, but we've given some thought to the hows and whys and are not OK glorifying or implicitly nodding at symbols of institutional racism just because you were when we were your age."

On the #metoo side, aside from women sharing personal experiences I think there's a strong tone of "we get that you grew up calling women honey or sweetie and thinking it's funny to "cop a feel" or treat us like the menu at a candy store rather than respected equals, but we're not OK with that."

Both are valid, IMHO, and here to stay. And that's a good thing.
