you're right, I've not been hanging around here much. Too many other things to worry about and need to keep other sources of blood pressure elevation to a minimum.

A quick update on my wife. She is still in the hospital. It is day 11. Just one complication after the next. None of it directly related to the cancer, but the surgery was pretty serious given the size of the tumor and so she's having a lot of "normal" complications associated with major surgery that have continued to delay her release. Last time I saw my wife, other than FaceTime, was on March 25 when I dropped her off and said goodbye in front of the hospital.

The good news is that the pathology came back mostly positive. There was no sign of spread outside of the uterus or penetration of the tumor into the uterine muscle wall. On the bad side of things, the tumor was huge. 13x5x9cm. And it was a Leiomyosarcoma which upon googling, I wished I had not.

Next step is to get my wife out of the hospital, hopefully in the next few days, and then start the next phase of her recovery. The gynecological oncologist here has agreed to do a peer consult with MD Anderson in Houston which is on the leading edge of sarcoma research. We'll probably end up going to Houston for treatment, although the travel logistics aren't exactly easy these days.

We have a plan and my wife is a tough woman and will fight like hell, so I'm confident we'll get through this, but I'm more than a little scared.

I'm also so sorry for the recent loss of your mother, and I'm sorry to hear about your daughter, but hoping and praying everything goes fine with her pregnancy.
