It would seem that the government could fairly quickly gather evidence on

the infection rates of Covid-19 within the population of persons with Lupus and other disorders that have been on hydroxychloroquine for an extended period of time. Really, they should be able to put those results together in a week. I would think they could gather supplementary numbers on whether those persons have infected family members within a few weeks. Yes, a blind trial would be better, but looking at infection rates in persons already taking hydroxycholoroquine would be a quick way to get a sense of its effectiveness. Not sure why that has not been done.
