Investment-savvy, asset-rich Republicans are a heavy minority these days.

There are probably as many Dems as Republicans that fit that bill. Most that I know are more political "hedgers" who love the status quo and look to work it from both sides of the aisle.

A lot of Republicans are bozos like you see on this board -- basically people born middle class with a host of advantages, including access to quality public education, who now think they're some kind of capitalists who deserve to be patted on the back for pulling themselves up by their bootstraps from a comfortable middle class upbringing to a comfortable middle class life.
