This is not necessarily a defense of Trump

but pretty much every western country was failing to do anything meaningful about this in January and even February. His cavalier dismissal of this as the “flu” was irresponsible, and his failure to start the mobilization of resources and contingency planning was inexcusable, but I can understand not starting the more draconian shut down protocols in Jan / Feb. No one outside of Asia was.

How do you categorize Italy, Spain, or france’s failures? Their per capita death rate is 3-6x that of the US. What’s the next adjective that comes after colossal?
