And many, not just Kavanaugh, and not just politically right of center folks, have been found guilty as soon as accusations surface, and have been “shot” before questions were asked.
The Biden situation has caused many (Alyssa Milano being the most prominent) to re-examine their statements that “women must be believed”. As accusers, that’s not supposed to be how it works in this country. They should always be treated with dignity and respect and be heard with open minds. But the accused are presumed innocent.
As for Kavanaugh - there was a whole period of vetting prior to the start of the hearings. I can appreciate Blasey-Ford’s hesitation to come forward, but when that was her decision during the vetting phase, that was something she (and we) should have had to live with. Decisions have consequences. In fact I don’t blame her - whoever engineered that 11th hour circus on the eve of the confirmation vote did wrong by her as well as Kavanaugh imo.
