Thanks for all the responses, will follow this thread all day. As I have
noted here before, I grew up with hunting weapons. I reached expert in .22s during my camping experiences. I have shot and killed dozens of deer. I taught all my kids -- and their cousins -- to shoot at a young age. I have taught gun safety courses. I own half a dozen hunting guns.
I love to shoot.
In my family, the ability to shoot well is almost akin to morality. I have been the best shot in my family for decades.
Yet for the life of me, I cannot understand wearing weapons in public.
Seeing people armed in public - shopping in supermarket for heaven's sake - give me a lump in the pit of my stomach. Some of it is the lack of any need. Some of it is the knowledge that most people carrying weapons know little of gun safety. As discussed here, anyone walking around with a chambered round have NO knowledge of gun safety.
Thanks for posting, appreciate the responses.
