That is scary, sad, and comical, all at the same time.


You have ignorant, misinformed, highly opinionated, fearful, and armed people looking for someone on whom they can project their fear. The kind of unrestrained hysteria described in this article is reminiscent of the comedic hysteria in movies like 1941, The Russians are Coming The Russians are Coming, and any number of alien/sci-fi movies. But this isn't comedy even if these people are acting like clowns.
