That's fair. That said, I'm not going to make Kaepernick a hero.

He had some missteps early, but became great representative later on. However, he'll be the first to tell you that he's not the story. It's the message.

And to Kaepernick's credit, he let the message speak ... and didn't make the protests about him. A sign of maturity and self awareness.
