Increased police action is not the most effective way to prevent drug abuse and, in fact, has resulted in more police abuse of power. I would argue that we should shift how we think about and deal with the problem. I was also answering the thread in response to the argument that the "defund" movement would reduce the number of cops. I say yes to that, too.

We need to stop pretending like there's just one way to address a problem. In fact, we should take the time to get on the same page about what problem we're trying to solve.
