Well, there, we just have a disagreement.
I think Romney was a fine, if of course imperfect, candidate. Experience as a governor, and ironically really the father of Ocare. Not that you have to like Ocare, but the man has an aptitude for governance. And I actually did vote for O in 2008. But I think McCain was also a candidate that the repubs could be happy and proud to put up - obviously he cared about public service.
I just don’t see how Trump can even be mentioned in the same breath with any of them. Or Biden for that matter. We gave “no experience in or evident aptitude for governing” a try in 2016. This year has shown just how important competence in the exec branch can be.
The COVID crisis could hardly do more to show how little Trump cares about his constituents. His policy is “cross my fingers and hope it disappears - hey, it will at some point”. Thanks pres, only 141,000 American dead - how many more need we endure while we wait for your wishful thinking to come true?
All those other candidates you mentioned are separated by very little, when you really look at it, when you compare them with Trump. Trump is effectively what we might have expected if McCain won, passed away in office, and Palin became pres. McCain may have lost because of that prospect.
Now we’ve had 4 years to try it out. It’s been a a disaster maybe unlike any in our history. This isn’t about everything being OK when we get Biden. Nobody is saying that. We just want to fill the ballasts and at least start rising back up from the deepest depths Trump sunk us to.
