with respect to the possibility that there could be US Supreme court opening before the end of the year. While the GOP has the votes to rush any candidate they want through, it could be really a big problem for senators in contested races. It might be better for those Senators to declare now that as a matter of some high principle, they would oppose any such vote before the next Congress is seated.
