those individuals. If they were to say, I think it would be irresponsible to affirm a SCOTUS justice without proper time to vet their credentials, and cite some of the more unexpected decisions backed by Roberts and Gorsuch to Republicans, then they might get enough political cover to prevent ostracizing GOP voters, but, I'm not sure how much positive will that would buy them with independents.
