No, I think you conveniently rewrote history in that post.

And I was appalled by dem chants of “not my president” before the ink on the result was even dry. But that was much more statement of opposition (inappropriate especially before Trump was even inaugurated IMO). There was no concerted dem effort to claim that the vote itself was fraudulent. I don’t recall ever seeing a claim that Russia or anybody else actually altered votes. Plenty of people claimed that Russia perpetrated (and some claim with Trump campaign assistance) the virtual equivalent of Watergate. Breaking and entering and then releasing scandalous stuff that influenced voters in ways that should not be allowed.

That’s not the same as claiming votes were tampered with and fraudulent. In fact I can’t think of a single dem who didn’t emphasize that the actual vote and tabulation itself was clean. Certainly that was the claim of the intel services who nonetheless reported on Russian interference.

I was always opposed to the notion of impeachment over Russia. But not at all opposed to the effort to draw attention to their attempts to interfere, spread disinformation, and all their efforts to sow chaos and discord in this country. I can agree - less focus on impeachment would have helped create more focus on the real problem of foreign interference (not just Russia).

But nonetheless, there were constructive results. I think national social media literacy improved at least marginally this time around.

But my friend, Trump simply screaming that the vote is fraudulent over and over and over, on his usual theory that repeating baseless claims makes them true, is a totally different animal. Every American should be opposed to this. It literally is an unprecedented attack on the most fundamental American institution from a sitting president.
