By the same token, if the Trump team is ultimately able to prove widespread vote fraud/error, then I'm sure you'd agree that is also reprehensible.

As of right now, it's early days, and nobody knows what happened. It is premature to say the claims are "baseless", especially when evidence (e.g., signed affidavits by eyewitnesses) has been presented. It's fair to challenge or disbelieve them, but they have not been shown to be baseless.

As I've said before on this board, the best thing that could happen for the left and for Biden (and, frankly, for the country) is for Trump to pursue these allegations and fall flat on his face. If the left tries to short-circuit his efforts, he and his followers will claim for all eternity that the election was stolen, and that the cover-up proves it. IMHO, it's in everyone's interest to let it play out. The state legislatures will not get involved unless they are provided cover -- LOTS of cover -- with proof of fraud, so you have nothing to worry about on that front.
