That run to the root of this country. See, I don’t give the slightest shit what’s good for the “left”. I care only about what’s good for the country.

If I get angry at someone and frame him for a crime, and do about as good a job as we are now seeing the Trump team do fabricating a basis for that accusation, I’m gonna be in deep trouble. Criminally and civilly. To investigate, the police would require some sort of probable cause. And they’d very quickly turn their sites back on me.

As they should, because serious accusations that could ruin someone’s name and life are not to be taken lightly. All we hear from the Trumpie side is their right to pursue their doubts about the election. But we hear nothing about anything lending legitimacy to these doubts. Every challenge for just one little iota of proof, or probable cause, of anything at all is met with nothing.

But just as individuals are wrongly convicted in the court of public opinion all the time, that’s what’s happening here. People remember the accusations, especially when they go viral all over the place. They don’t remember acquittals. Acquittals don’t go viral.

Show me the basis for these accusations that can’t be debunked in 10 seconds of googling. If you can’t, take a hard look at the assault on our democracy that you are cheering on here. Lose this bullshit about what’s good for the right or the left. The stink of these accusations, however baseless they are ultimately proven to be, will not dissipate anytime soon. Maybe not ever, like happens to the wrongly accused.
