give up that much coastline and forest resource and farm country and just hand it to Idaho? That would be daft, no matter how much Idaho might want it. IF they want it. Now Idaho taxpayers are responsible for services in former Oregon counties with only 60K people to widen the tax base? Even more daft unless the consider the resources a trade off, but then, as I said, why would Oregon agree?

You haven't even gotten to Congress yet, who would no doubt want to limit this type of redrawing behavior, unless, and this is a big unless, you want to consider redrawing a bunch of states along with it to even out the population centers and electoral votes? Want to go down that path? Think the rest of the country will want to go down that path? Didn't think so.
