I will say that a close family friend and political pundit, former labor/union rep and specialist who has advised and been on staff with both Republican and Democrat administrations and campaigns, and who correctly called 2016 (as well as how it would play out) weeks in advance, agrees with my take and tells me it accurately reflects the sentiment. 2020 was no longer about "that", though. It morphed into something larger. Call it a referendum on DJT personally, call it a culture war, call it whatever you want, but it, along with the disaffectation of that demographic now with DJT himself, overwhelmed that dynamic
