American democracy (or at least get rich getting suckers to open their wallets on that promise) is that D’s helped bring us to this point with their assertions that there was undue foreign influence in the election, and when they marched chanting things like “not my president”. Which was of course an acceptance of the results of the election - I saw a march up 5th Avenue the Saturday after Election Day 2016, where people were screaming that. It’s a protest that inherently accepts that the Electoral College would in fact vote as the popular vote dictated (Trump win). Nobody actually launched an effort to have votes thrown out or alternate slates of electors sent in December, 2016. Just inflammatory speech.

I can understand the argument that there’s been a trajectory leading us to this point. I understand that as a way to explain this escalation, which is unprecedented. To assign a little blame for it, because this should be such a source of shame for any repub supporter, and shame sucks. I get that. But no American should be willing to excuse it or even stay silent during it. Way too many are.
