it is very difficult (but perhaps not impossible) to define the proscribed speech in a way that would pass constitutional scrutiny. I personally wouldn’t mind seeing some very carefully crafted attempts to do so given the sheer level of filth that certain politicians and media spew out on a daily if not hourly basis. But I won’t hold my breath on that.

As a more practical solution, I would love to see a bipartisan commission of sorts with both policy experts and neutral citizen laypersons that publish fact-based findings about important topics in our society. Something really neutral that has the highest standards of review, credibility and accountability. We need to do so much better at fighting all the garbage that has been strewn about our political landscape.
