Watching some of the speeches yesterday, the GOP team is way weak and yet..

so representative of the base. I think that people could have been chosen at random from the invading Capitol crowd, and they would have been as capable of giving a reasoned speech on the topic of impeachment.

You used to think that the people chosen to represent 750,000 of their constituents would be better educated and more well spoken than their average voter. Many of the speeches were characterized by the usual lame whataboutisms and conspiracies that we see on THIS message board, for God's sake.

One representative actually said that "from this point on, any impeachment will be political in nature". He clearly has not even a basic 10th grade understanding of what he was doing. I don't think he was the only one either.
