I bought a handgun about 8-9 years ago. This was at a shop that also had an indoor gun range, which I went to on occasion. I asked about the availability of a specific handgun and was told that they had been backordered for some time. Asking why, he said that there was a run on guns (at that time) because Obama was going to outlaw guns. When I responded that no president could do something like that alone, that it would take a HIGHLY unlikely act of Congress, he looked at me as if I was speaking another language entirely.

Of course Obama is long gone but that big old lie persists regardless of reality, common sense, or anything else to the contrary.
