joke about Watergate might be dated but TV was generally better entertainment. Of course there are exceptions. Breaking Bad was one of the great things ever on TV, but how many Real Housewives do we need? So much of television tries to be gritty or edgy or cool, not but in an unrealistic way. Old TV was about stories and laughs, not about the cool factor. To me it's the same with movies. MOST, not all, current movies are special effects and explosions. I would much rather see better acting and directing that was in older movies. What would a modern day remake of Casablanca look like?
