The goal post shifting part.

The aim from the very first Fauci covid meetings was about keeping the hospitals below max capacity. You know, because its a fucking virus that you can't beat without a vaccine.

Then the left realized the value of COVID as a tool against Trump. So they decided to focus on # of cases and deaths...which was never the point of the strategy in the first place.

The strategy was finding the balance to allow life to go on as much as possible while keeping hospitals below max capacity....until a vaccine was found.

But people who don't support Trump wanted to report numbers in a concentrated political effort to get you to forget the original strategy.

If we were trying to minimize deaths and cases, everyone would have been locked down aside from essential services for the whole year. Unrealistic.
