Unfortunately (or fortunately for my waistline), I'm not a foodie.

Charleston is a food town though, and restaurants are certainly open. Suffice to say, yelp can help ya here more than I. I'm as content at home with a canned tuna sandwich as I am with a roasted salmon meal at Hanks Seafood....on that note, go with Hanks. If you like a simple fish fry and oysters, Bowens has a great view. Sipping a lite beer, eating a fish fry, and watching the sun go down over the creek isn't the worst way to spend an evening. They're only open Thursday through Sunday though I believe.

I think some of the best ways to see the architecture is actually on the water. This is more expensive though, but we don't have a shortage of charters....who will do anything from fishing, dolphin tours, island hopping (including Morris island lighthouse), and older homes that still capture the Charleston antebellum architecture.

If you haven't been yet, I always recommend to out of towners Magnolia Plantation and Gardens. Each season, there is a different bloom and you feel as if you are immersed in a painting.
