I talk politics a lot with a buddy who’s caught between an Uber-woke wife and in laws on one side, and his own Trumpie parents on the other. His comment about the law is “they have to do something because of all the public skepticism about voting security”. To which I say “I don’t entirely disagree, but those doubts have been seeded for 4 years by unsubstantiated claims by snowflakes who simply won’t accept election results they don’t like”.

I actually agree with Trumpies that the launch straight to impeachment calls over Russian collusion, long before anything was vetted, is borne of the same sentiment on the other side. Although there were plenty on that side who resisted those calls, including Pelosi.

Ok, but voting laws were not altered over that. That’s my response to my buddy - lie after lie to sow seeds of doubt within an overly credulous echo chamber is not a valid justification for all these legislative changes.
