Yes, and I also read the other girl was on scholarship, and yes, I can

believe that depending on that parent and his/her status (donor, profession, etc) that could be enough to scare the coach off from that girl. But as I already said, yes, it sounds like there is more to this story given the part about prior texts sent to her teammates. Also, not previously said, but this girl was not "forced off" the team, but rather chose to leave the team. Which doesn't mean the coach didn't make it untenable for her to stay, nor would it excuse his behavior necessarily.
