Been around this white trashionalist “fear and loathing of the other” mantra that defines Trumpism. Sadly, that’s what their voter base is and what they demand.

Trump’s gift to awful ugly Merica was that they don’t need to keep voting for these Country Club elites that privately laugh at them (and yes, the irony is thicker than pea soup) to beat the Dems, they can just go full hicktard, fly their freak flags proudly, and just fight the libbtardz dirty like they want to. People like Gaetz, Gohmert, Boehbert, MTG etc didn’t come out of nowhere and I don’t think there is any going back now — the candidates will keep getting worse because the voters keep getting worse. These are just the people who represent them.

Trust me, I’d love to see a return to the old GOP too but it just isn’t happening because no one wants that party other than a handful of well-to-do older voters who are finding themselves settling for Dems these days or reluctantly sticking with the tax cut party and turning a blind eye to all the ugliness that defines the party now (instead of having their platform drive the ship and talking about guns and abortion on the campaign trail every four years).
