There are many provisions that tend to cause less voting

as well as undermining of election officials by the legislature.

1. Harder to get an absentee voting application.
2. Less early voting hours, and voting hours structured in a way that makes it harder for people who work during the day to vote
3. Less drop boxes and mobile voting centers, and the determination of where to place those in the hands of political people.
4. Secretary of State with less power to control vote counting
5. The legislature has the power to remove election officials.

some provisions are fine in my opinion. For instance, the food and water restrictions are good ideas. You don't want partisan influencing people while they wait in line to vote.

All of this passed at a time when no material vote fraud occurred, makes you question why the law was passed. Whether this was done for reasons of race, we'll have to listen to DOJ and hear their case.

That said, it does seem like a solution in search of a problem, and unfortunately, you have to seriously judge the intent of persons who can't produce a cogent rationale for the law.
