The globe is warming. That’s a verifiable fact.

Relatively new technologies establish that it is warming in historically unprecedented ways, due to increases in carbon and methane and other greenhouse gases. And that human activity is the cause. The consequences are becoming very clear in real time. The scientific consensus around those conclusions is overwhelming. If they are not verifiable facts in the sense that the warming of the globe is, the evidence is so well established that ignoring it is like moving your kids into a new house and lighting a slow burn fire at the foundation. Maybe the rest of the house won’t go up in flames, but you’d have to be completely ambivalent about their futures to operate on that assumption.
