about public debt leaves me a little cold. The reality is that there is debt and then there is debt. People like Ballmer and Romney seem to have no problem running up debt to bail out corporations, or to feed the military industrial complex, or to give themselves a massive tax break. But they do have a problem debt financing infrastructure or healthcare, which I would argue is needed. (Not necessarily Ballmer, just saying generally.) Or rather, I might argue needs to be taxed appropriately. Republicans have been using the "starve the beast" strategy for 30 or 40 years, which is one reason we have such a massive debt problem in the first place. Pussy Democrats have been their silent collaborators.

So yeah. The hand-wringing can stop now.
