There is nothing inherently wrong with debt. A reasonable amount of both
public and private debt allows our economy to grow and to build for the future. It is also essential in times of national emergency. The problem is labelling it "bad" or "not bad" and not being able to have an adult conversation about national priorities, in particular who is benefitting from the debt and what it's being used for. That includes spending and taxing priorities.
Instead the politicos and the voters just want to have ice cream for dinner.
