I agree with your characterization of the Trumpie side of the equation.

I agree that your “most posters” remark likely reflects the thinking of most independents, at least, and probably most dems, aside from the over-woke progressive left.

But it is true that all or almost all dem pres candidates raised their hand against border security, in favor of free health care for illegal immigrants (although I think that could mean different things), and that Biden froze construction on portions of the border where a wall made sense (IMO) and was already close to completion.

No wall anywhere along the border is completely batshit crazy. Dem policies are not geared towards the posters on this board who want rational border security and immigration policies. They are geared towards a base, which actually might be a social media mirage - I’m not sure.

That’s the point - both parties contribute to the irrationality on the subject that makes any hope of a solution a pipe dream.
