...political violence we've seen over the years, most recently all during 2020. But all of that violence was left-wing in nature, so it was given a pass for the most part.

Since political violence had become normalized prior to 1/6, some on the right thought it would be okay on 1/6, as well. They were stupid, though, for not understanding we have a two-tiered justice system in this country based on political persuasion, as evidenced by them getting ludicrous four-year sentences for non-violent trespassing.
