...the mainstream media is the largest purveyor of it. If you watch CNN and only CNN, then you simply have no concept of "reality". Some of what they report is outright false, but all of what they report is biased, which is to say misleading. I'm not condemning them for that -- they are simply catering to their audience's preferences and trying to earn a buck in doing so. Many people would say the same things about Fox and its viewers. Ditto for Colbert.

To address the specific examples you gave, it's important to distinguish between reporting on what someone said versus reporting that what someone said is the truth. Some people care about what Michael Flynn has to say just as some people care about what Adam Schiff has to say. Neither should be censored.

Reporting that Flynn asserts that the election was stolen is not the same thing as saying that the election was stolen. Think of the word "medium", the singular of "media". It's meant to be a means of conveying something, not necessarily of creating something. The media should be careful about viewing itself the sole arbiter of truth and reality. They are not, and they simply can't be due to inherent biases, both economic and ideological.
