Why does the widening wealth gap contribute to inflation?

I think demand roaring back at a time of massive disruptions in supplies and supply chains is causing inflation. I think there are a very wide range of opinions about how long these conditions will persist. I think BBB hopes to address the wealth gap, and I think dems are shifting gears as they try to sell it as a step to address inflation (by lowering child care costs, prescription drug costs, among certain other things), but I don’t see the widening wealth gap as inflationary. Inflation has been absent for decades while the wealth gap yawned, and deflation has been the biggest concern for the last 12 years or so, with the wealth gap yawning big time.

Personally, I don’t think BBB will have much impact on inflation one way or the other. It’s spending is spread over a decade and annually is a drop in the huge ocean that is the US economy.
