Let me recap recent history for you, this is about how I see it. I'm sure you have your own spin but I think mine is pretty close.

1) Dem candidate for prez in '92 has some sexual demons and drops out. Bush Sr and H Ross Perot take votes from each other, we get perverted sex offender for president. He governs moderately for the most part and is the last fiscally conservative president I've seen. But his wife is an asshole and no likes her as she is not one to sit about and smile and wave but wants to be part of his cabinet. Peeps be like, I didn't elect her, I don't like her. But more on that later. And he can't keep his dick in his pants and dallies with a chubby, not very attractive chick, not a good look for a president. JFK had Marylin Monroe ffs. We survive this strangeness.

2) Repubs run Junior, he is a globalist, hasn't achieved much in office as guv or in business. Dems run 2 straight losers in entitled white boys Alphonse and John Effing Kerry. Junior wins, dems say he didn't win, not my prez, etc. And he proceeds to get us into some crazy assed shit that the previous owner pretty much ignored even though he had a "terrorist czar" and lots of other czars...wtf was with the czar fascination? He also goes apeshit on spending. We survive this strangeness.

3) Dems decide, well, let's run a guy with even less accomplishments than W and almost zero wisdom or experience. And they win! He is a "great" speaker, with a teleprompter. He spends most of his time hob nobbing with rich and elites and dividing races and classes. This is a new low. And he had some talent and great potential to unite us and squandered pretty much all of it to be divisive and petulant. Everyone kind of shrugs because they know his VP is an idiot. We survive this strangeness but we're not in Kansas anymore.

4) Repubs counter with an oafish, unlikeable, narcissistic, grifting blowhard who can't say Yosemite, among other things. And also possibly a sex offender who apparently was hanging with sex offender #1 and Epstein, who didn't kill himself. Dems counter with one of the only people less likeable than Chapter 10 orange dude. And they think she should be anointed b/c she it's her time, she's paid her dues, even though she has trouble walking and not coughing uncontrollably. He wins, does some things I like and some I don't, bigly. Everything he does is yuge, even if it isn't. He says worse shit. We survive this strangeness but now we're more divided than ever, I think.

5) Dems counter this time with a genius...no. A minority...no. An outsider...no. Certainly a guy with better faculties than the last one...no. What was a clown show is now a full blown 3 ring circus. Nobody really knows what's going on or who is in charge. Everyone wants change, they don't give a fuck about hope anymore because one guy was from there and the other spoke about it and there really wasn't anything but smoke and mirrors. And they know his VP is really odd so no one is really saying boo but we all look at each other and sigh, even the dems. We will probably survive this as well, I think.

Now...the current front runners for the next cycle or at least the press's favorites to cover are Orange authoritarian, current odd duck bizarro VP but I'm doubting on her a whole lot unless she takes the job early and does some cool shit but prolly not even if she takes the job, and potentially a gay dude, not that there's anything wrong with that.

I feel like maybe democracy, as you call it, is possibly already gone and we are in the Twilight Zone. But if we have authoritarian rule, I am looking forward to the gladiatorial games coming back as well as freak shows at the fair, again. You know I'm a big fan of both. Perhaps we'll get real hunger games, that would be a hoot!

I have no idea where we go from here, tbh. I'd say you can only go up but somehow, I'm not sure that's the case. We're still pretty far from the bottom even though it doesn't seem like it much of the time.
