There is an argument that if platforms are engaging in editorial functions, they should take the same responsibility for content as a news organization. We are all concerned about disinformation, although disagree on what qualifies as that, but if a platform can ban certain items, or tag certain items, then the conditions giving rise to 230 did not really turn out as expected when it was implemented.

Also, the free market argument runs into challenges, because reality is that a few platforms are the only games in town. There are no realistic alternatives to Twitter and Facebook. So there could also be anti-Trust considerations around making that free market argument a little more viable.
