Well, emotional attachment isn't weird.

And that tends to lead to defending at all costs.

BTW, I raised my daughters on UVA sports, even though they are JMU Dukes. They hate VA Tech even though a few of their cousins have gone there. My oldest was pissed we lost to Tech. But then she saw the post game interviews and was all...OMG Dad, JC Price is cool, though. I even found myself having a soft spot for him, which sucked.

If Dex is the guy, my only problem is that at some point, no matter how well or poorly he does, we'll ride him out of town because that happens to every coach eventually, if not sooner. And he is my favorite UVA player of all time. So I imagine I'll be guilty of some emotional defending of him. But I really feel like almost anyone we hire carries a good deal of risk so I don't fear him being the guy.
