If people are depressed, anxious, miserable, poor etc. they will find a way to escape. We don’t tend to know drug addicts unless we have family members with problems (have had a few, sadly) but there are lots od people struggling and I can’t imagine the pandemic has helped.

Personally glad I don’t understand what would compel someone to stick a needle in their arm to black out the rest of the day, but honestly alcohol and pills can be just as serious a problem.
