I don't think the fact Miyares didn't issue an ultimatum proves much.


That would be an obvious (and dumb) strategy. A simple firing maintains plausible deniability.

I am not concerned about Heaphy doing fine. I'm concerned about Miyares interfering with important work to shine a light on possible illegal activity in the prior administration. That work is already behind schedule and probably won't be continued past 2022 based on prevailing political winds.
