...advocate for medical treatment, whether it's vaccines, MCBs or aspirin. Governors aren't health professionals, nor can anyone -- even a health professional -- make blanket statements about what everyone should do regarding their personal health.

The only appropriate comment that a politician should make is along the lines of, "Hey folks, there's a potentially dangerous virus going around that is contagious. If you are very old, immunocompromised and/or obese, you are particularly at risk. If you are not, then risk beyond a cold or flu is very low. Your children are at extremely low risk."

"You should consult with your doctor about steps you might take to protect your own health. We as a government are doing what we can to ensure you have access to potential treatments, both pre- and post-infection. We will be leaving our state open for business and our schools open for educating our kids so as not to exacerbate the potential damage." That's it.

He didn't advocate that everyone get MCBs. He advocated for making sure Floridians had the opportunity for potential treatment when they (probably inevitably) contract COVID. That sets him apart from nearly everyone else -- he worked to make possible pre-infection options (COVID shots) and post-infection options (MCBs and other stuff). THAT is the way to go about this, not just a monomaniacal focus on "vaccines". He was literally lauded in the press last year for doing such a great job on the vaccine rollout before the media had to do a 180 and politicize even that.
