Doesn't sound like an intentional shooting, especially since he shot himself "in the groin." Does sound like resisting arrest and probably an illegal concealed carry, with a prior illegal possession.

I don't know anywhere this wouldn't be a bailable offense and note the bail was a whopping $250K, obviously because of the aggravating factors that a) it's a second offense and b) somebody, and in this case the somebody was a cop, got shot.

But dollars to donuts this came straight off a statutory bail schedule.

BTW, again obviously, most kids his age WOULD be sitting in jail until trial. So how you can say this shows lax laws or lax enforcement is beyond me.

(What this DOES exemplify is the standard Marxist American justice critique, that there are two sets of laws in this country, one for rich folks--in this case the "rich folk" is a Black teenager--and one for poor folks.)
