due to capital controls and manipulation by Putin. If the sanctions last much longer, the Russians won't be able to keep this up ... and the higher interest rates will hurt investment ... raise import prices ... where their economy will shrink this year. Ruble strength is not a sign of Russian macro strength. Their manufacturing is slowing AND imports have collapsed. Russia is basically tightening their monetary policy to bypass growth. They are SHRINKING their economy.

Did you think this was a shorter term play? If the sanctions are going to work ... it was to be a long term play. How long do you think the Russian Energy sector will support them if our European allies continue the pressure?

The fact you have no idea why the ruble strengthen and the consequences for Russia ... is rather pathetic.

Please stop pushing Putin propaganda. It's insulting.
