Don’t disagree, but that concern has gone both ways.
In NY, some have conjured early AIDS response comparisons - because in this case it has mostly impacted gay men, the city (and state) failed to prioritize. I think the concerns are overstated by those who hold them, and the media makes it appear more hold them than actually do.
Nothing at all prevents monkeypox from hitting anyone. It also doesn’t transmit through casual exposure, so focusing honestly on where it prevails now is basically just contact tracing. This is where current containment efforts make the most sense.
