He’s probably explained it to the satisfaction of Trumpistan.


That might be enough to get him the nomination in ‘24, although I’m not sure how that will play out if ultimate conclusions here are really damning. Any other pol would be done already, but Trumpism is a cult. Possibility exists imo that he could get the nomination as a convicted felon legally disqualified from running.

But he isn’t convicted of anything now, and truth is, he owes us no explanation at all. I’m sure his lawyers (those not of the wackjob variety) are trying hard to impress that point upon him. He should owe voters an explanation before any would consider voting for him, especially given all their past enthusiasm to lock up Hill for this sort of thing, but that would be up to the voters to enforce.

I don’t think the cult can be relied upon to enforce that.
