I agree with this but Dems are in the same spot on this issue

While organized labor is perceived by many as a less important constituency these days, it still carries major influence - especially in this White House. Most Dems remain unhelpful regarding provisions seen as potentially putting any pressure on labor costs -- which is a major reason they generally battle trade deals and are not anything magical on legal immigration or worker visa issues. This has been true for decades but even stronger now since we have lurched in a more populist direction. It is 100% accurate to recognize there are many jobs (and growing) that nobody wants to do here at almost any price, but saying this out loud and helping with some policies on this front takes political leadership that few elected officials on any side of the aisle have today.
