Which path do you think won’t be a road to hell?
Appeasing Putin’s dreams of rebuilding the Soviet Union?
Whether or not a harder line should have been drawn back in 2014, there isn’t much debate about the need for that line now. Putin’s expansionist plans need to be checked, and the fact that his feared conventional military capabilities have been exposed as a joke with no chance of standing toe to toe with NATO makes the road to hell more remote.
The only question is whether Putin will decide to try to take the entire world with him if he thinks his own doom is imminent. I suppose the entire world could back off and sacrifice Ukraine to appease him. Then what? More appeasement when he annexes Moldova?
The less entrenched Putin becomes in his foreign excursions, the less the chances of a road to hell for the entire world. The time to make this stand is absolutely now. It’s the whole reason we now know that Putin’s military is a rusted out joke, and his country is nothing more than a nuclear armed gas station.
