the standpoint of government censorship, I agree 100%. The government should have zero role in restricting the free expression of opinions and ideas no matter how objectionable they may be. And while I agree that sometimes we overreact with the consequences of free speech by “cancelling” people, I don’t think the general concept of consequences for espousing offensive ideas is necessarily bad. Kyrie Irving is free to express any offensive ideas about the Jews controlling the world, but Adidas is also 100% within its rights to decide they don’t want such a person acting as a representative of their brand.
